Preserving the Past, Capturing the Present for the Future

Announced by the University of Pittsburgh

The event is free and open to the public. It will be held at Philadelphia Masjid.

Philadelphia is a quintessential Muslim city with its various Islamic expressions and the perfect place to talk about preserving the past, capturing the future so that future generations can witness the journey in Islam. The Black Muslim Internationalism project is being hosted at the Philadelphia Masjid, a historic place to see exhibits from communities and hear some of their history and current. This is not an ideological meeting but an opportunity for us to come together so we can learn about each other. Our communities are being researched by Muslims and others who have little knowledge, and we need to tell our own stories.
