Pittsburgh's Potluck for Palestine in the Steel City, comes together to share food, art, history and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters occupied and oppressed here and around the world. From Pittsburgh to Gaza, Baltimore to the West Bank, the group seeks to build community and amplify the suppressed voices of those suffering from police brutality, discriminatory legislation, and institutionalized execution.

Rain or shine at 4 PM on the corner of Forbes and Bigelow under the tent at Schenley Plaza.

Global crises are rising and getting worse, and there is a shortage of people to work in the field of humanitarian aid and disaster relief. La Roche College’s Global Development and Humanitarian Aid Training Program offers the chance to learn about working in these fields through an intense five-day workshop.

With local and global experts, real-world simulation experiences and interactive classes, participants will leave with a strong understanding of key concepts, trends and essential knowledge necessary to succeed in this field on both a domestic and international level.

Join us for a screening of Camp De Thiaroye presented by Sembène – The Film & Art Festival.

Camp De Thiaroye is a true story that was hidden by the French colonial regime until this film. In 1944, after defeating the Nazis and liberating Paris in World War II, a group of African soldiers – from all over West Africa – report to a transit camp near Dakar. Many of the soldiers were prisoners of war of the Germans following the fall of France in 1940.
